LAP TEAM
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF LOVING ON YOUR POOCHES
Our Story
Life’s a Pooch was founded from a passion (okay you got us, an obsession) for caring for animals and a mission to offer the kind of care we wanted for our own four-legged family members.
As it turns out, our hometown was looking for that same family touch we provide, so we got to work. What began as a mother-and-daughter-in-law duo has grown into a fantastic team of dog-loving humans who treat every pup like their own.
We kicked things off as a dog-walking service, but soon discovered that we simply couldn’t fit all the amazing dogs we wanted to help into a single day. That’s when we launched our playgroups, giving dogs a fun and safe social outlet (hello furever bffs).
Our program is a home away from home for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to wise old seniors. Our private property was designed thoroughly and skips no corners to ensure they get the very best care.
At Life’s a Pooch, we prioritize your dog’s happiness and safety over profit, every single time. Sometimes this means we have a waitlist, but we’re committed to growing thoughtfully and carefully.
Each dog is monitored closely to ensure they’re matched with the right playgroup based on their personality, size, and play style. Our small groups help prevent overwhelming situations, making sure every dog can enjoy their social life at their own pace.
While you’re busy working, parenting, or chasing your dreams, we’re here to make sure your pup’s days are filled with fun and play. Our mission is simple: less crate time, more play time, and lots of love!
Since safety is our #1 we extensively monitor behavior, read body language and play matchmaker based on temperament, size and style of play for every dog in every group. This inspired us to keep our groups small so dogs don’t get overwhelmed and can settle in to their social life at their own pace.
We’re your dogs’ people while you’re busy working, being a parent, or living out your dreams. Our mission is to enrich dogs lives with less crate time and more play time.
let them play!

I have a lifelong soft spot for all animals-especially for dogs. Lauren and I decided to combine our passion for pooches and out of our partnership we created a wonderful service in our hometown. I credit our quick growth to the dedication we both give this opportunity every day. Life’s A Pooch is my dream job. I whole heartedly love what I do and the families we help. I could not be more proud to be a part of this business.

Since I was young, I've felt a strong connection to animals. It's my goal to help others experience the same level of camaraderie with their four-legged friends that I have come to cherish. At the age of 20, I earned an Associate's Degree in Canine Science from Newbury College, where I found my appreciation for canine psychology. Through understanding, patience, and play, it's my job to help our companions be confident and content so we can always delight in the extraordinary bond we share.

I’ve always been an animal lover my whole life I grew up on the Sherborn / Framingham line where I was fortunate enough to have horses and family dogs I am very excited to be working for a team that loves furry friends as much as I do.

As a kid my family lived right down the road from the town shelter and I would always bring home the animals that were abandoned outside. It was no secret in my family how much I loved to help animals and it's still my mission to this day to do my part to keep them out of shelters. As an adult I began working at a Guide Dog school where I learned the husbandry of dogs in a kennel setting. I moved into adoptions where I found loving forever homes for the dogs that couldn't be guide or service dogs based on their needs. I was fortunate to be offered an apprenticeship training service dogs for Veterans with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries and that's where my love of training dogs blossomed. I enjoy teaching people how their dog's mind works and seeing the benefits of when human and dog work and live together in symbiosis. In my free time I'm usually off exploring and hiking with my dog Huck. I just want to give him the best life possible! I'm so happy to be a part of the LAP team and continue following my dreams of working with my favorite animal!

Animals effortlessly live in the present moment, teaching us to savor each experience and embrace joy with simplicity. one of my greatest joys in life is witnessing animals’ playful antics and experiencing their unconditional love. I’m grateful to be part of a company that values safety, wellbeing and kindness toward all dogs and humans!

For over 25 years I've been in the animal industry, working (and volunteering) in a variety of jobs as well as continously educating myself. And though I've held jobs in other fields, being in the animal industry has been my first and true passion. I've learned more from this industry, from these dogs, than I ever will from people. Animals are my world and I can't imagine a life without them. So if you need me, I'll be with the dogs.

I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember, grew up with an Irish Setter, and worked with them professionally for the last 3 years. As soon as I started working with dogs, I knew I could never go back to an office job! I love getting to know so many dogs and their unique personalities. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I made a dogs day better.

I'm a dog lover through and through! They're your best friend, your child, your precious fur baby, your entire world! I'm also a drummer, I love to read, I'm a music fanatic, and you can catch me fishing whenever the opportunity arises. I'm so excited to get to know you and your little angels!

I have always had an immense love for plants and animals ever since I can remember. Growing up I was that little girl with one hundred different and sometimes unusual pets, but dogs have always remained a constant in my life! I started pet sitting when I was very young, and have always dreamed of a way to work with plants and animals for my career! I currently teach plant and terrarium workshops for adults and kids, and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to work with animals every day! I absolutely love dogs because they are honest and loyal and they have a way of knowing you better than you know yourself sometimes. Dogs are truly more than man’s best friend, they are family!

I have always been drawn to all animals but especially dogs. My original goal when I was a kid was to be a veterinarian, but when I was introduced into the dog daycare world about 3 years ago, nothing could beat seeing the happy faces of dogs at play and the bonds that are created! I am honored to be a part of the LAP Team and can't wait to meet and connect with all of the dogs that attend LAP!
laura, playgroup handler
Though an animal lover my whole life, I was only able to get my first dog at 29 years old. Then I went from 1 dog to 2 to 3 to pet sitting to fostering for rescues. Everyone who knows me knows it’s my favorite topic of conversation. I’ve seen their incredible resilience and amazing ability to connect with and understand humans. They have taught me so much about the effects of trauma and healing, communication, grief and loss, love and joy. Dogs have taught me lessons about how to be sensitive and strong at the same time and to live in the moment. After 15 years of teaching, I made the decision to dedicate myself to the wellbeing of dogs full time, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
