Open Role 1: Full-Time Professional Dog Walker —Needham, MA
Location: Needham, MA and nearby towns
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:15 am – 4:15 pm
Compensation: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour + tips, paid training, 401(k) match, PTO
Your Responsibilities
Follow a pre‑set walking route and schedule Monday–Friday
Walk dogs according to their needs while using proper leash and handling techniques
Read dog body language and promote calm, positive behavior and safe socialization
Provide fresh water and check for any signs of stress or health concerns at every visit
Adjust routes for weather (shade/grass in summer, safe footing in winter)
Document behavior and health notes for management to share with clients
Arrive on time to each home and represent Life’s A Pooch professionally
Who This Role Is For
Ideally 6 months of professional dog handling / walking / training experience but not required
Confident reading dog behavior and body language
Strong time management and communication skills
Valid driver’s license, 5+ years driving, reliable car and phone
Able to work Monday–Friday, 8:15 am – 4:15 pm, and lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable passing a background check and pet care skills assessment
Open Role 2: Full-Time Dog Playgroup Handler—Medfield, MA
Location: Medfield, MA (commute or relocation required)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Compensation: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour + tips, paid training, 401(k) match, PTO
Your Responsibilities
Safely transport dogs in company vehicles from clients’ homes to our fenced play areas
Manage off‑leash playgroups serving Medfield, Dover, Sherborn, and Needham
Constantly supervise groups to maintain safe, appropriate play and behavior
Apply trainer‑designed methods in our train‑and‑play program
Maintain a clean, disinfected, organized play environment
Bathe or towel off dogs after wet, muddy, or messy play sessions
Report behavior and health observations to management for client updates
Who This Role Is For
At least 6 months of professional dog handling or training experience
Comfortable managing multiple dogs of different breeds and temperaments
Calm, safety‑focused, and professional in public and with clients
Valid driver’s license, 5+ years driving, clean record, reliable commute to Medfield
Physically able to work outdoors year‑round and lift up to 50 lbs
Team‑oriented, great communicator, willing to train and grow skills
