Full Bowls for the Holidays Pet Pantry Drive

With food assistance shrinking, many families are choosing their plates over pet bowls— help keep local pets fed and home this winter.

What it is

A two‑date, community‑powered pet food drive and distribution to keep dogs and cats with their families through the holidays. Life’s A Pooch is teaming up with West Street Veterinary Clinic (Medfield) and the Needham Police Department to collect unopened pet food locally, then distribute it directly to neighbors in need.

Distribution dates (first-come, while supplies last)

Pickup location: West Street Veterinary Clinic parking lot, Medfield, MA

  • Saturday, November 29, 2025 — 1:00–3:00 p.m.

  • Sunday, December 21, 2025 — 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Where to donate (before each date)

Accepted: unopened, unexpired dog and cat food (dry or canned).
Not accepted: opened/expired food, meds/supplements, homemade treats.

  • West Street Veterinary Clinic, 45 West Street #2, Medfield, MA 02052

  • Needham Police Department, 88 Chestnut Street, Needham, MA 02492

Goal

Help us reach 2,000 lbs by December 21, 2025. We’ll post running totals so the community can watch the “Pet Food Mountain” grow.

Why this matters

When household budgets get tight, families prioritize human food first—pets go without or get surrendered. Your donation keeps local pets fed and at home this winter. A single bag of food can be the difference between “we can keep them” and “we can’t”.

Your bag donation does 3 things immediately:

  • Prevents surrenders: Full bowls at home keep beloved animals with their people.

  • Eases shelter pressure: Fewer surrenders mean emptier kennels, less stress, and fewer heartbreaking outcomes downstream.

  • Helps neighbors with dignity: No forms, no judgment—just two windows to get help fast.
